Plyra Chess is made by MurrTech LLC ("we").

Short version: your games, analyses and settings stay on your computer. Only the information needed to produce an AI explanation, check your licence and process your payment leaves it.

What stays on your computer

The app, the Stockfish engine, your account reviews, saved investigations, settings and licence key are stored in your user folder (.plyra-chess). We cannot see them.

What goes to Chess.com or Lichess

When you run an account review, the app downloads your public games from the site you choose, using its public API. If you connect a Lichess account for the opening explorer, the app sends the positions you look at to the Lichess opening explorer with your Lichess login, directly from your computer; we never receive your Lichess login. Their privacy policies apply to those requests.

What goes to our AI service

When you ask for an AI investigation, the app sends the AI service the position, the engine results for it and the instructions needed to write the explanation. When you ask for a coaching summary, it sends the statistics from your review (ratings, scores, error rates, openings, example moves) with your username, opponents' names and game links removed. Each request carries your licence key, or on the Free plan a random install ID created on your computer. The service forwards the request to an AI model provider to generate the answer.

The service stores, per licence or install ID: the number of AI requests and the amount of AI usage this month, so that plan allowances work. Licence keys are stored only as one-way hashes. Install IDs and network addresses are stored only as keyed hashes (using a secret held by the service), to stop abuse of the Free plan. The service does not keep request logs; our hosting provider may keep standard connection logs for a short time. We do not store the content of positions or explanations, and we do not sell data.

The AI model provider processes requests under its API terms, which do not allow it to train models on that data by default.

Payments

Payments are handled by our reseller (merchant of record), Lemon Squeezy, which receives your name, email and payment details. We receive your email address and the status of your licence.

Your choices

You can use all engine features without using AI. You can delete everything the app stored by uninstalling it and deleting the .plyra-chess folder. To ask about or delete the usage record linked to your licence, contact us at support@murrtech.pro.
